Michael Shulkin

Founder | Creator | Alchemist

Michael stands as the visionary behind Ling Elixirs, Ling is a potent fermented herbal beverage company founded in 2009 in Lihue on the island of Kauai, Hi. As of 2024, our brewery headquarters are in Boulder, Colorado. With a degree from the Nutrition Therapy Institute of Colorado and a solid foundation in herbal medicine and alchemy, he has devoted over 15 years to creating this incredibly high-vibrational beverage.

He has devoted time to the extensive self-study of Chinese tonic herbalism. The energetics of the final product are a strong focus for Michael as he oversees each batch with intention and care to ensure the highest quality experience.

Michael has an extensive background in Elixir bar operations and has worked in the field since 2006. He is the former owner of the Tonic Alchemy Lounge.

Dagny Lucia

Dagny has been working with plants and herbs since 2015 when she studied society and ecology, and ethnobotany in Durango, CO. During that time, she worked for Turtle Lake Refuge, a local permaculture farm, that utilizes a wide variety of native plant species in their raw, plant-based food products.

In 2018, Dagny moved back home to Boulder and encountered Ling while working as a bartender at Zeal Foods. Upon drinking it for the first time, she knew she would come into a closer relationship with Ling one day. In 2019, she began working at Tonic Alchemy Lounge where she continued to expand her knowledge of herbal alchemy and mixology and grew more acquainted with Ling Elixirs, meeting Ling’s founder, Michael.

Having developed a keen interest and affinity for Ling, as well as both herbal-alchemy and inner-alchemy, Dagny began brewing for Ling Elixirs in 2020 and continues to fall more and more in love with it as time goes on.
